Designed by Laure-Isabelle Mellerio, artistic director and chairperson at Mellerio, Les Muses collection reflects the new season by celebrating the arrival of spring.
This symbiosis with nature is expressed through the use of an elegant and original alloy, known as green gold: a metal that has frequently been showcased by the family business, particularly in the 19th century. Characterised by a specific alloy of gold and silver specially developed by the company, green gold breathes life with a modern twist into the three chapters of the fine jewellery collection dedicated to female muses - sovereigns, artists, icons, from Marie de Médicis to Georges Sand and the Belle Otero and including Marie-Antoinette, all of whom have adorned Mellerio’s odyssey over the centuries.
Its bright colours, which shine in luminous contrast to the skin, flourish on the rings, bracelets and necklaces of the collection, illuminate the cross and garden motifs of the designs inspired by the 17th and 18th centuries, and boldly highlight the creations of art nouveau inspiration and the esoteric evocations of the chapter dedicated to the 19th century.
Evoking the renewed vivacity of vegetation, this unique shade in contemporary jewellery design reflects the naturalist inspiration so important to Maison Mellerio, while at the same time making a subtle nod to the company’s flagship colour and echoing its ecological commitments, since the gold used in this alloy is recycled.
