Just one year ago, Laure-Isabelle Mellerio presented a new fine jewelry collection that paid tribute to the refinement of a lifestyle steeped in history and bliss. The Riviera collection.
Between elegance and casualness, picturesque charm and love of the Avant-Garde, the Riviera is a constant source of inspiration for Mellerio. A family business, born in the heart of the Valley of the Painters during the Renaissance before moving to Paris in 1613, Mellerio is well acquainted with these contrasting landscapes, an obligatory gateway between France and Italy, which hold the secrets of an allure and the refinement of an art of living that willingly explores new avenues, the winding paths of its cornices overlooking an azure sea as much as the picturesque villages where so many artists have lived, such as Matisse and Picasso, Cocteau or Mademoiselle Chanel.
It is the architectural translation of these cornice paths that unite the two countries, France and Italy, that suggested the rounded design of the Riviera "Band" ring with its iconic ovoid shape, once again revisiting that of the Mellerio Cut diamond, a reminder of the Beau Sancy diamond from the beginning. The Riviera Band, made of either smooth or brushed gold, reflects a sunny light and is combined with modernity with the brilliance of an immaculate white gold suggesting the asphalt under the squealing tyres of an Alfa Romeo coupé from the hippy years.
Collected, accumulated, combined as the wearer wishes, sometimes worn on the ring finger or thumb, or carelessly suspended on an improvised chain, Riviera Band is the unique sign of a clever and charming jewel that everyone will dream of adorning themselves with.
