The grace and lightness of a dance, just like the purity of a diamond, is natural and attracts men and women alike. The beauty that can be felt in both cases when art is brought to its climax is not intended for one gender. The unforeseen encounters of time between strong personalities then do the rest.
It was therefore almost inevitable that the paths of the oldest jeweler in the world, Maison Mellerio, established in Paris since 1613 not far from the Opera Garnier, would cross the steps but above all the open and curious gaze of the star dancer Hugo Marchand.
It is a striking sign for Mellerio, which has had a strong presence in Japan for over thirty years and is a supplier to the imperial court, to imagine that Hugo Marchand could receive his star in 2017 at the Bunka Kaiken in Tokyo.
Both the Grande Maison and the Star, who becomes the ambassador for Mellerio jewelry, knew how to bring to life the iconic Mellerio Cut diamond, which is the property of the jeweler and pays tribute to the Beau Sancy and to the history that has linked the House to Queen Marie de Médicis since 1613, through dance.
The resilience of the dancer Hugo Marchand through his work of learning and searching for perfection of gesture, as well as his talent for artistic expression, are values that have touched Laure-Isabelle Mellerio, President and Artistic Director, in that they are the foundations of the long history of the eponymous House.
The whole of 2023 will therefore be marked by moments, movements and images that both Laure-Isabelle and Hugo hope will be accurate and strong and will express the joint talent that this association carries.
